he budget is a missed opportunity to loosen the shackles of neoliberalism.

Can't solve problems caused by neoliberalism with more of the same.

Appeasing corporations and the super-rich, extra tax perks for the rich, but little for ordinary people.
The budget is a missed opportunity for the government to loosen the shackles of neoliberalism

Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties.

This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors.
BREAKING: DoorDash just agreed to buy Instacart for $17 billion. Here's what that means for customers and shoppers.

It's a genius plan to end neoliberalism with more neoliberalism.
I sense a flaw in this plan. 🤔
October 29, 2026 at 7:10 PM
We've waited patiently for a plan to end neoliberalism. We won't wait anymore.

We need rent controls
We need a wealth tax
We need *serious* cuts to energy bills

Instead it's a few pence off gherkins & a payout which the experts say won't touch the sides on energy bills.

how do you get artists?

welfare.
Housing.
Social services.

Cheap rent, paid to live and study and create.
Austerity and neoliberalism are antithetical to artists getting to be.
There WILL BE less people like Patrick Stewart or Dolly Parton, given widening wealth inequality, loss of jobs in creative sector, austerity, privatisation of education (especially arts) & financial exclusion. Art of the near future will be less diverse & restricted to the privileged few.
