if you want an organization whose support for their electeds is conditional on their not considering anyone's else human rights conditional, and where trans folks make up a decent chunk of elected leadership, you know where to go.
absolutely. I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and toil into my chapter and I value its members even if I disagree with them. I think I feel similarly to the NPC the way the median Eurosceptic feels about Brussels.
I think I speak for a lot of DSA members when I say I'm a member of my chapter first and Nationals second. I'm obviously not in LA, but if the NPC came down from on high to demand we revoke an endorsement I'd double down on that candidate out of spite.

sometimes we love democracy don't we folks
A 61-year-old man born in Canada learned about Lula when he was an 18-year-old union worker and translated Lula's speeches word by word with a dictionary and distributed them to mobilize his fellow workers. Now a naturalized Brazilian, he cried voting for Lula for the first time this year.

ICYMI: Turning Point USA is due to hold its first large-scale event at the #UniversityofOregon in five years on Wednesday.

But you wouldn't know that if DSM hadn't reported on it because the newspaper on campus, the Daily Emerald — for which I once worked for — hasn't reported jack shit about it.
NEW from DSM: On Wednesday, Turning Point USA will hold a debate-style event at the EMU Amphitheater in the heart of the University of Oregon campus, the first major event since the university distanced itself from an event in 2021.

I can promise you no one beyond your annoying conspiracy brained apolitical uncle down the road was influenced by Cornel West

Dude has been a fraud for a while now

He’s been courting the far right for over a decade now. No leftist takes him seriously

To call him a spoiler candidate is laughable

Monstrous beyond all reckoning. The US is using remote sensing *designed for humanitarian purposes* for the opposite purpose, potentially drowning civilians en masse. Trump hates Somalis. His troops appear to be exploiting the weather to help slaughter them.

The persecution of @repilhan.bsky.social just days before an election is vile and politically-motivated.

I'm leading 175 House Democrats in denouncing this. When we retake power, we have to seriously look at how we can stop these abuses of power — starting with the power of the purse.

"refusing to use AI is a vector for oppressing the poor" lol
my nuclear-grade AI hot take that’s sure to get me cancelled until kingdom come is that refusing to use AI at all is rapidly becoming an extremely privileged lifestyle choice that feels social justice-y while actually being the complete opposite
being anti AI is a luxury belief only available to first world people, especially Americans

imagine how important machine translation is for people whose first languages aren't that common

So much to say about Brazil, not least of which is the role that Erika Hilton, a Black trans leader and most voted woman politician in Brazil, played in mobilizing folks for Lula. She was behind the critical, concrete, economic promise of shorter work-week.

Who is Erika Hilton? Black trans politician was one of Lula’s loudest campaigners
Erika Hilton’s electoral triumph comes amid a hostile environment. Brazil has the highest number of reported murders of transgender people in the world, with 80 recorded in 2025.
