Watching the orb weaver that lives on my deck is like watching the spider version of Alone. But instead of being like, "Whoah! He caught two 40-foot pikes!" I'm like "Woah! It got five bugs!" Good job, buddy!

A poem for 38.

From your local moody, water-eyed, Cancer sun/Leo moon poet who misses the ocean, listens to the cicadas, has a heart too big for her body, and will always stop everything to point out a butterfly or the moon. 🌙🦀🦋🤍

Emily's reaction to getting her period during a party in Season 1, Episode 3 of Dickinson is the appropriate amount of dramatic. This is still my reaction to getting my period two decades+ into menstruating. I impatiently await the blessing of the menopause goddesses.

Winter's death rattle shakes out its indecency, / and I am eager for the scandal of light / to constellate my body where hurt once puckered and dimpled.

We're always more wrong than we think. We always forget / how history never really roosts once it's buried in a page // and shoved on a shelf. That bodies remember what souls
forget.

First spooky season read (from August): "The Invocations" by Krystal Sutherland. 10-word snapshot:

Queer. Witchcraft. Curses. Helpful(?) demons. Murder. Girl power. Necromancy. Ancestral lineage.

Highly recommend as a witchy read this fall 🔮
