Here's something I've been working on for a while, that I'll be getting into a lot more soon. This is where Land Acknowledgements come from, this is what they mean, and this is how you've all been doing them wrong.
This has been in the works for a while. What @rjjago.bsky.social delivered went far deeper than we could've hoped. It gives us a lot to reflect on in our work but also will hopefully contribute to the much wider conversation.
We've watched 1000s of public meetings, advocating for the end of prayers. In recent years, we saw the majority start opening with land acknowledgments. We asked Indigenous writer & historian Robert Jago to help us understand the history & context of this practice. www.bchumanist.ca/land_acknowl...
