Excited to introduce our new photochromic probe OptoChol-1 - this sterol acts as an „efficacy photoswitch“ in TRPC3 and enables control over its channel function by light. Great job by Hazel Erkan-Candag in collaboration with T. Glasnov.

Once again, the focus is on the complex interactions between alcohol and cellular signaling. Manuscripts are now being accepted for a special issue of Biomolecules. The issue will summarize recent advances in understanding the molecular basis of alcohol-induced impairment of cardiovascular health.
