Keep getting debris in your tips and it's not a bad filter, internal, or tubing? Check your electrode holder. Might be done. Note corrosion and any small hairline fractures in the plastic. #neuroskyence #patchclamp #electrophysiology

The last two cells I patched! They are by no means my best fills, but definitely the most memorable. Also a reminder to new patchers that lousy fills do not indicate bad cells- some of my best recordings didn’t have great fills. (Ah I miss patching🥹)

On Saturday, I gave a lecture and then a seminar in the morning, and spent the rest of the day in the lab. Went back to my room a little after midnight and got up at 5 am to take my camera on a morning walk.
