“I side with Republicans on made up culture war issues… to make YOUR life more affordable”
Excuse me??
Holy shit.

Marcy Kaptur becomes the latest Dem to release an anti-trans ad, and its worse than all the rest combined.

"I voted WITH Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of schools, and let me be clear, boys should NOT play in girls sports."

This is getting out of control.

The number of cases of cervical cancer reported in Scotland among women given the HPV vaccine at 12-13 years of age is now zero.

Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero. Zero.

Zero.

Born into poverty, became a superstar and a billionaire and just - shared and gave and promoted good causes and left this outsized mark on the world. Gave away as many books as there are people in the US! Funded a vaccine during a pandemic! Legend.
Dolly is gone, but I'll always appreciate her funding and publicly receiving the Moderna vaccine, in addition to her advocacy to wipe out childhood illiteracy.

You know y’all complain about the kids not knowing how to read, but Dolly was trying to teach them. She was mailing books to the children. She was working on it.

Since Kennedy has taken office, we've had 5 #measles deaths in the US. We had 3 total deaths from the virus in all of 2001-2024. And outbreaks are still growing here in Ohio and in Pennsylvania. Utter madness that our government is encouraging this.
NEWS: Two unvaccinated people in Pennsylvania have died from measles, according to state health officials.

They are Pennsylvania’s first measles-related deaths in 35 years and the first reported measles deaths in the U.S. this year.

I am indeed a professor.
I read ugh, theory.
I read a lot of history; articles and books.
Its because the stuff I read for work is so dark, and intense that I need something to change the gears.
So hell yes, I read absolutely trashy romance novels, and I read smut.
We can do it all, I believe.

Probably AI? But did not a single human look over this graphic before the State Department presented it to an audience that would immediately notice how embarrassingly wrong it was?

I’m at #AIDS2026 but missed this session. Maybe a good thing, the cringe might have killed me.

Street drugs are cheaper and stronger than they’ve ever been, and they’re far more likely to kill you. The government’s advice hasn’t changed much since Nancy Reagan, but drugs have. Now, scientists are writing their own rules and we have a guide here.

Ever since that line about how there is only one god ma’am, which turned me off the entire franchise. If you’re making movies incorporating polytheistic pantheons that aren’t yours, don’t also insert smug little one liners to reassure the audience it’s not for real.

(I know it’s not that deep.)

One sibling is a parent of a teen & toddler, which I think I’d do reasonably well at, and an equestrian to which I’d bring moderate enthusiasm and zero skill. The other is a CEO and, uh, I hope the team is on top of things.
Thought experiment- if you were suddenly appointed to do your sibling’s job, how badly would you suck at it?

Do these deportees have any ties to Eswatini? If not, can you imagine how terrifying this is? Were the two who were released tossed out on the streets to fend for themselves in a strange country? Reminder that ICE released people in Minnesota without coats or transportation in the dead of winter.
A few minutes ago, two ICE flights operated by Journey Aviation landed in Eswatini, likely another third-country removal of immigrants to a maximum security prison there.

Nineteen people have already been sent there on previous ICE flights in the last nine months. Only two have been released.

The law would've restricted students and educators in Florida from discussing things like race and gender in higher ed classrooms.
