SUMMONED BY MENTION OF COSTCO RETURN POLICY

for specific electronics and appliances — computers, phones, fitbits, washers, dryers, etc. — you are technically limited to a ninety day return policy.

unless otherwise specified, you can return everything else foreverrrrrrrr

My mom (born in Detroit, 1934) used "hoosiers" as slang for "white people."
ok so i was looking up what "hoosier" actually means and it kind of... has a really dubious etymology? it was popularized in a doggerel 1833 poem called "the hoosier's nest" that describes an indiana family living in a "buckeye cabin" and full of varmint skins and dried pumpkins

There's a song on U2's "Days of Ash" EP ("Yours Eternally") which takes the form of a letter from a Ukrainian soldier on active duty to the people back home. One verse is a reply, sung by Ed Sheeran. "Propaganda" magazine (reactivated after nearly 20 years) asked Bono about it. His reply:

Have had what I now realise is COVID for a week now and, as it is for all freelancers, it’s a nice reminder of lockdown, when you couldn’t really work but also there was no way of getting money to get by in the meantime, so you can be ill, confused, bored and panicky at the same time.

Nostalgic.
