Love to see the Zionist NYT letting gross antisemitism go unchallenged. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The reason we need more religious studies education is because the "New York Times" can just allow someone to say in an interview that wokeness is like the Old Testament, which supposedly has no forgiveness, and the assertion goes unchallenged.

Avi Lewis is a Jewish politician refusing to be silent about Israel’s genocide—and now he’s being threatened with violence.

@judred.bsky.social writes that the lack of uproar reveals just how powerful the pro-Israel consensus remains among Canada’s elite.

There's a decent argument that this column violates the criminal code prohibition against inciting violence. The thing he's accusing Lewis of is also how Yitzhak Rabin's killer tried to 'justify' his actions - removing other Jews to 'protect' the Jewish people. This is sick, and a shanda.

The National Post is using language that seems wildly irresponsible and dangerous here

Citing ancient “Jewish law,” it labels Avi Lewis as a “rodef”

The ultranationalist extremist who assassinated Yitzhak Rabin rationalized his killing on the same basis:

Blaming the Belleville attack on antizionists is NONSENSICAL.

There is no public evidence to support any of these claims. www.readthemaple.com/how-pro-isra...

Thread.
This misses any analysis of what the term “Zionism” constitutes. You can always find bad-faith antisemites using “Zionist” as a replacement for “Jew,” but conflating anti-Zionism w/ antisemitism under that flimsy justification is bad-faith reasoning that assumes the conclusion.
Anti-Zionism is too often thinly veiled antisemitism, as if substituting the word Zionist for Jew renders the unacceptable acceptable. The federal government has now called it out in a new report, recognizing that antisemitism includes anti-Zionism.

Every time @cornelluniversity.bsky.social makes the news, I'm more embarrassed to be an alum.
A woman was drugged, raped, and sexually trafficked to members of a fraternity.

Two of the men involved were expelled. Five were given the opportunity to mitigate suspension by *writing an essay.*

The dozens of other men who knew this was happening and said nothing? You already know the answer.

In Canada, too.
The political and cultural response to 9/11 was to briefly mouth some "Islam is not to blame" platitudes and then declare total war on Muslim people and the Muslim world and we're entering the 25th year of it with no end in sight.
If nothing else, this book deserves your attention because it refutes what is becoming an alarming consensus talking point in the center that 9/11 brought out the better angels of our nature - a delusional distortion of reality that is true only for one value of "our."
