I like to say that the only rule in screenwriting is that the reader enjoys reading the screenplay. Every other "rule" whether it be about formatting, story, or characters falls under making it easier for the reader to understand the story and thus more likely to enjoy it. #scriptsky
When I was figuring out how to write graphic novels, I heard the advice that you should pay attention to how your pages are progressing. A page turn in comics can be EPIC when done right.
I do the same for my scripts. Make your story great. Make the reading experience even better.

I’m not good with templates but I am loving this group and I’m participating in this challenge.
Sarah runs an awesome, supportive and inspiring space. Met some great people (and one I dislike - is it you? guess who?! jk!) who I can fangirl about when they make it big someday. 💫

The best feeling is pitching 30+ loglines to a group of actor friends so you can prioritize, only for them to demand across the board that you have to write all of them. If I could bottle that, I would. 👩🍳 😘 #scriptsky

Just here to say I made myself watch Happy Death Day, Megan, & Knock at the Cabin and I had a great(?) time.
I only looked away a couple of times but played it off (to myself) that it was because I needed something in the other room. Which I totally did at those moments btw! #moviesky #scriptsky

Last bit about this and I’ll STFU. You can jump to “if you can’t take feedback (insert sarcastic quip)” rather than taking feedback about how you relay feedback.
I take feedback all dang day. I also know constructive and effort. Giving feedback is as much a skill as writing the script. Do better.

Another wth moment brought to you by Story Peer. 😆
To be clear, I don’t mind feedback. In fact, most of the feedback I received for this log was super positive and read requests - so I ain’t bent out of shape. You’ll never please everyone.
But in what world is this constructive?! #scriptsky

Just used Story Peer for the first time in ages and the feedback was such a drop in quality I have to ask - is this the new normal over there?
I know I put in too much effort (often 3-6k words) but this person copied and pasted the same in both sections - which I realized after. Disappointing tbh.

The irony of seeing writers post complaining about such and such contest or reader service using AI (usually not true and just sour 🍇 btw) then seeing them use it for their posters or concept trailers is kinda wild tbh. 🤷🏻♀️ #scriptsky

My entry to this week’s @killershorts.bsky.social Discord one pager challenge using the prompts.
When they said use the number seven I don’t think this is what they had in mind. 😬
I am who I am I guess. *sigh* Also, do I get bonus points for using maw? #scriptsky #horror #math

Know what’s cool? If you don’t like Black List or anything else, you don’t have to use it? Especially if you claim it’s a scam (I disagree btw). If it was, most folks would just move on. This hyperfixation I think says something else (aka sour 🍇) - but what do I know?* 🤷🏻♀️ #scriptsky

And that’s a ✅ on this draft of Can You Stay Late at 95 pages. It took a bit of editing and puzzle work but we got there people. 💪
Now do I pivot to something new today or head into another edit job?
