The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy.

It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.
New GB News accounts are out. Here are their losses to date. Or "spent political donations" if you prefer

So City will emerge after the intnl break painted as public enemy no1 by a baying mob of media sycophants, intent on whipping up hatred against the club. Hostile atmospheres await everywhere as zero proportion, or consideration of further due process ensues. Bet Enzo Fernandez is licking his chops.

That would be millionaire Richard Tice of the same Reform party that accepted £102 million from crypto billionaires and whose greatest concern is the happiness and well being of the working class….

It never stops being important that, no matter what the subject, politicians like Farage, Trump & Rubio are entirely untethered from the most basic requirements of honest discourse. They might turn out to be telling the truth sometimes but only ever in the spirit of stopped clocks.

Notable that the past 48 hours has seen the masks completely dropped by some usual suspects in the media - Ronay, Holt, Herbert (by name & nature), Sam Lee & Jonathan Wilson being principal culprits, in the race to pen pandering fantasy tripe to feed to the cartel fans they wish to appeal to #mcfc

A remarkable family/sports story, incredibly difficult read, but told with care & compassion here by Brendan Quinn.
A forewarning that this one is difficult. But it’s a credit to Duncan Robinson and his family for telling it. They hope it’ll help others.

And maybe it’ll be a good reminder that “we can all be a little less certain about knowing what someone is going through.”

Over the last few months these guys made me proud to be British: kind, practical, profoundly moral, a testament to this island. Now they're targeted by the very worst of us. I just gave them a bunch of money. You should too. Show those fascist clowns what's what.

The senior pros did a great job tonight allowing the kids a chance to shine, and grab their chance. Samba & McAidoo in particular did so. Job done and on to sunday #mcfc

Finally something that could make me watch Rowing at the Olympics. Live Crocs in the water certainly adds a different element and level of jeopardy.

So who's fault is it tonight then - VAR, the Ref, the floodlights, the pitch, the football league? One can only guess.

Enzo dropping truth bombs here. Still waiting for the apology for the rules not being applied to Palaces Keeper in the 2025 FA Cup final as well #mcfc

Given the garbage theyve served up for the past season & a half, its probably not the smartest idea for certain Mets players to go to war on their own fanbase. The astounding lack of self-awareness on their part, or appreciation of how pissed off the fanbase is with the team is quite something #lgm

Net migration is at its lowest level, outside of the pandemic, for fourteen years, small boat numbers are collapsing and yet you still can't move for 'migrant crisis' stories in the British media

Am sure this news will be greeted perfectly rationally amongst the financial experts & cartel talking heads on social media, convinced City are prepping for a 60pt deduction & relegation. ION #mcfc have spent £420m but recouped the best part of £390m this window - the net spend melts will love that

More VAR bollox today then. Maguire clear deliberate handball waved off; stonewall pen for Brentford ignored. What's the point of VAR at all if it's not going to be used for bleedin obvious decisions? Laughable.

Pleasant that. Cherki off the scale good, Erling lethal, Anderson kept the trains moving in midfield & good to see Bouaddi slot right in. Add 2-3 more quality players in midfield and up top, & a new team is fully under construction. Well played Blues 👏🩵 #mcfc
