I've recorded 2 Dewick's Plusia to NI overnight 28 and 29 August 2026, Ellesmere Marina, Shropshire (VC40) - possibly new to SJ43. The lure is about to be deployed in SJ33, about a 5 minute walk from the Marina. Plenty of Silver Y; however, no Ni Moth. #TeamMoth

Just popped my head out of the kitchen door for no particular reason to be greeted with this fabulous Oak Eggar female alighting at the base of one of dad's garden plants. Ravensden (VC30). #TeamMoth

A mixed week Welsh birding and mothing as the weather was not ideal for either most of the time, so nothing unexpected recorded. About to do a quick stop at Goldcliff, Newport to scope the estuary, then traveling back to SW London.

I've just got back from leading a group of cubs and beavers on a bird walk. One young lad wanted to use my binoculars, he then said he wanted to smash them on the rocks! I politely declined. Still a good walk though with Hobby the best of the evening.
