This is my new pinned post. Hi, I’m Lilah! I write comics and I am transgender and sometimes those things intersect, as in my OGN Girl Haven, which is a trans coming-of-age story/portal fantasy! I love my wife and my daughters and also cats and capybaras.
I think once a year we should all get drunk and tell everyone exactly what we think of them. The Purge but for feelings. What could go wrong?!

Wish we could have a forced de-icing here in the US
In France, hundreds of Intermarché and Coopérative U supermarkets were hit by a cyberattack on their refrigerators last night in which hackers “managed to remotely trigger forced de-icing”, AFP reports. The issue is forcing many stores to throw away their fresh and frozen goods.

It’s National Coming Out Day and if you want to come out to someone safe, you can DM me—I will affirm the heck out of you. It feels good!

As for me, I’ve written more comic books in my life than anyone really needs to, I’m fine.

I am similarly pleased to see young creators get their first big breaks, and folks who have been slugging away for years get their due. There are a lot of nice things that happen in comics. See, it breaks your heart but it fills it up too

Very pleased to see that two of my favorite people in comics— @gwillow.me and @rachaelstott.bsky.social are doing a Captain Marvel book together! How great is that?!

The essence of the conservative white cis man is that he did something challenging once and now believes he understands everything there is to know about hardship.

Happy international Lesbian Day to all lesbians with more than one passport!!!

I absolutely hate that doing these physical therapy exercises makes me feel better, and NOTHING ELSE DOES. Because exercising, and I don’t know if you know this, kind of sucks.

Posting this ONCE more. I think I can get a couple more folks! DM me!
Any trans-femme writers in PDX who would like to do a writers meetup? It would be a combination get-together, writing session, and craft talk. The only criteria are that you are transfeminine and serious about your writing, whether you’ve sold anything or not.

Please share with your Portland pals!

You know transitioning is hard and it can be lonely and it can suck sometimes and the fucking transphobes do their best to ruin everything and it hurts, it sometimes really fucking hurts and the only thing I would change about it is I wish I’d done it sooner

Holy shit I think Nightwish might be my new obsession

I love symphonic metal because all of the band photos are like five guys who look like aging barbacks standing awkwardly next to The Queen of the Damned

Reading The Myth of Sisyphus and so far there is no mythology but a lot of talk that would get Camus demonetized on today’s platforms!

I still kind of wish we would do this and make it a free public service, either run by the govt or a real nonprofit, akin to Wikipedia.
This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

Unfollow me if you will, hate me if you must, but the album FALLEN by Evanescence absolutely SLAPS and I’m sorry but it’s true. Amy Lee’s vocals are ridiculously powerful and the arrangements are huge and cinematic. It’s obviously not everyone’s vibe but it is definitely and defiantly a vibe.

“Whatever And Ever Amen” is the most Gen X album title possible. If you want to understand Gen X, know that we saw this album title and went “yep.”

Who are your some YouTube video essayists I might like? I’m a fan of folks like Folding Ideas, Lindsay Ellis, Big Joel, Man Carrying Thing, that kind of stuff. Would love more women and more transedgenders.
