Nice trot around the Producers Market this morning at Severndroog Castle. A little q at the popular bakery stall. In to the woods and then across Oxleas meadow with its distant view up to Oxleas cafe & the Shooter’s Hill water tower roof poking out.
A successful morning avoiding housework and DIY!

OH wanted to see Heart of the Beast (the Brad Pitt with dog in Alaska film), I kept him company.
And frankly, I couldn’t escape my feeling ‘you brought this on yourself mate’. Why did you go to such a remote place? You did this to yourself. I guess I wasn’t the target market. OH loved it 🤷🏻‍♀️

At South Bank Centre today to hear the London Sinfonietta and Jonny Greenwood (of Radiohead) play Steve Reich’s music to celebrate his birthday at 90. Tbh not too familiar with the work beforehand but enjoyed it especially Jonny playing Electric Counterpoint.

El*n Mu*k’s mother being interviewed in Times Radio rn. Totally delusional about him. Sees nothing wrong with his tweets. The media makes up lies about him apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's just weird isn't it when the British Museum is running a sold-out exhibition, when The Odyssey reports $1billion at the box office, when the V&A has just opened the most innovative and accessible museum model in Europe....and this is what our minister for research comes out with.
A cheery message from the new minister responsible for research funding for the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences (and the subjects that the majority of UK taught undergraduate and Masters students study).
Science and maths degrees offer most value to the nation, says minister
Chris McDonald told a room full of vice-chancellors that science, engineering and mathematics ‘offer the greatest personal, social and economic value’

To add my two penneth…25 years ago I had the week off while working at Goldsmiths, due to visit Paris.
Sat in front of the TV in horror, pregnant for first time, we hadn’t yet told anybody, fearful. The halted Eurostar restarted & we had a surreal time with armed French police everywhere.

One reason England does so well is our second generation immigrants outperform their peers which is not true in most OECD countries.

We are also very good at integration. And it's v sad that this is never acknowledge in debates on immigration.

A peaceful Well Hall Pleasaunce in late summer Sunday evening sunshine. The Italianate garden fountain, looking towards the fountain in the orchard garden… 😌

High energy opening last night in Woolwich of the @gdif.bsky.social - French choreographer Mehdi Kerkouche’s 55 min performance of ‘360’. Frenetic movements by dancers on a high round tiered stage to throbbing loud rave music which filled a packed Gordon Square #GDIF #dance

Back a couple of weeks ago to the London heat from a few days in the cooler Lake District. Attempted Wansfell Pike & Orrest Head ⛰️, visited Windermere, Ambleside, Bowness & Grasmere 🌳🦌🍻, Wordsworth’s📝 and Beatrix Potter’s🐰 houses, enjoyed some boat trips⛴️. Lovely place.

A great local day doing medieval things at the Joust at
Eltham Palace yesterday. The whole team had such great knowledge about archery, musical instruments and medieval life generally and happy to chat. The second of two Joust days today!

Emptying phone photos, found these from July four years ago - a scarecrow competition right outside Battle Abbey, part of an arts festival 🤷🏻‍♀️. Great ‘Back Story’ info though 👨‍🎤

Ah Woolworths. Just finished this which has been languishing in the cupboard. Once a fixture in every high street, the chain has been closed now for almost 20 years. Some brands just evoke nostalgia and affection. I wonder if Poundland will, after they are long closed…

Sun dropping last night at 20.30 in orangey sky with brooding grey clouds above. From Eltham Park north, up at the Long Pond, looking west - can see the London Eye on the left horizon

Old person moan - Who o why did the Eltham Vue put up the house lights from the very beginning of final credits for The Odyssey (so could hardly read them), ruining hearing the new song, “When I’m Home”, (by Göransson, J Blake & Travis Scott, with Nolan) without people trampling to leave… harumph 😠

Great show in Greenwich last night with Josh Widdicombe et. al. including host Elis James, in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College.
Before that, enjoyed the Thames views from the latest new riverfront venue, The Ship.
