I've been thinking a lot about visible vs invisible skill layers. i.e every craft has outer layers of skills that laypeople can recognise, and inner layers that you need expertise and experience to perceive at all. Could y'all think of examples of visible vs invisible skills in your own discipline?

I've, to this day, still never opened ChatGPT once. I still don't know if it's a program, a browser extension or a website. I have no idea and I sincerely do not care.

A good reminder of where I stand on this: I DGAF how technically good you are at traditional painting. If you use genai in ANY part of your process, you have abandoned the soul of art, abandoned the artist community and forfeit any reason I should give you an ounce of respect.
