Wow, the volume of unsent emails that I started and never sent sitting in drafts is at this point staggering. Some go back years. Definitely some missed opportunities in there as the window has passed. There's so many people I just haven't talked to in forever and I need to fix that.

Absolute Superman 24 was a ray of brightness in the challenging Absolute DCU. A real sense of Superman getting it together and handling situations, now with help. Usually when our Absolute heroes catch anything resembling a win, they get evened out pretty hard and pay a hefty price. So we'll see...

Awesome turn out for the Midnight release of the Marvel Midnight titles! Everyone picked up each series, but Spider-man’s variants went the fastest! Anyone who said they would read them tonight I wished them luck sleeping. Most also said “see you tomorrow!” Thanks for joining us!

The "I wonder if that"ll be part of this series" moment that M.A.S.K. fans have wondered about is upon us in issue 5! If you know, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. And if you don't know, you'll still have a good item with it.

All of the Midnight 1s have a What If vibe and that is not a problem. They probably should since What If by name & intent casts a heavy shadow at Marvel. I need to see more on Fantastic Four, want to see more on X-men. Spider-man immediately sets its self apart in body horror/ gore. So far anyways.

All of the Midnight 1s have a What If vibe and that is not a problem. They probably should since What If by name & intent casts a heavy shadow at Marvel. I need to see more on Fantastic Four, want to see more on X-men. Spider-man immediately sets its self apart in body horror/ gore. So far anyways.
Midnight X-men was quite intriguing. A simple surface subject, but immediately complex in implications. There's more going on than Vampires, Vampires who are also Mutants, & Humans in the middle, but that is hook enough. So many places this can go past & present. Ribic-esque art seals the deal!

Midnight Spider-man just might be too much for me. Despite loving Spider-man, I'm not a fan of actual spiders. This one does a LOT with actual spiders. Scientronc has a heavy manga stamp which places this in the manga horror lane which is likely intentional. Too effective for me, perfect for others!

Midnight Fantastic Four. Wildly different set up & characterizations, but the "what is the Fantastic Four story" molecules are here. Walker is vastly underrated. I think this is what the whole Midnight project has to be. How long can this specific presentation run? I'm not certain, but hooks are in.

Fantastic Four First Foes Dragon Man was as classic as it gets. If you want to see movie Fantastic Four doing Lee/ Kirby things, this one shot is for you. @gregpak.com really captured the vibe & Mark Buckingham's art sealed the deal. So much fun!

I’m thrilled that so many people came out to Acme Comics bright and early for Amazing Spiderman 1000 and will soon read this outstanding issue. Can’t wait to hear feedback on it!

Shift is in the Three Worlds/Three Moons line like Foundations. It serves as a prequel, or you can let this be your first intro. I knew this would be in a class by itself so I read it last. Quite the visual spectacle from Del Mundo, but Hickman's engaging characterization is what locks you in.

Superman Kingdom of Zod Special is the event finale and also offers other conclusions and other new beginning for Superman, Superman Unlimited, Action Comics, & Supergirl. This one has a very effective recap if you wanted to just jump in here as it adds a new layer into the Krypton mythos.

Queen in Black #5 puts a nice bow on years of storytelling while leaving the door open for more someday. Venom 262, the final issue, wraps up the MJ era with Venom Unchained 3 setting up the new era of Venom. These issues all support one another, but if you have it Amazing Venom is read last.

I wonder if Cable and Wyre ever met? Not saying they should, but if they did, Cable would probably bundle him up for good with quickness.
