What a life! Seemed like he had more fun in fashion than anyone.
Farewell to remarkable Bob Mackie.

I’d honestly forgotten that Macklemore existed but it’s crazy to make a free speech martyr out of someone for basically saying that genocide is bad.

I hope he gets a big career boost out of this, because genocide *IS* bad!

Democrats need to stand for everybody’s rights, all the time.

We won’t get anywhere sacrificing our most vulnerable to the right. That’s just how they’ll pick us off one community at a time.
We're being told that if we sacrifice the rights of some people, then the rest of us get to keep our rights.

We all know that's some BS.

I have to say that despite the pile on, I’m heartened.

There are a lot of people coming out now and saying they will not support the worst anti-trans Dems who call us “biological men” and who advocate for laws targeting us.

More than I thought.

I hope the consultant class feels a little fear.

People say this question is not relevant to our immediate existential troubles, but I disagree with that. It is the ultimate existential question. The only one. Because trans inclusion is an immediate existential issue for trans people. Which means it’s a greater existential question for all people.
Talarico: "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' sports if it endangers safety or fairness"

I actually think a platform of “everybody’s human rights, all the time” would be a generational campaign winner rn.

Republicans are proud to be the party of bigotry, but what do Democrats want to be known for?
i think a really underrated thing is that voters tend to look for what they perceive to be strength, conviction, and directionality, even when they don’t necessarily agree with it — and this kind of folding very much shows weakness
over on IG this post has aroused the ire of people who think i'm making some kind of purity argument rather than saying that ceding ground to the right is a strategically bad move. they're saying i'm a paid bot

Mark my words, if this guy gets elected, he’ll caucus with Democrats but be the most unreliable hack religious nut ever.

“Political violence has no place in America” is just “thoughts and prayers” for Democrats.

Political violence is everywhere in America. i wish it weren’t, but it always has been.

Calling it now: “willingness to punch left” and “history of throwing vulnerable communities into the Republican wood chipper for votes” will not be assets in the Democratic primaries
And if he becomes the nominee, it’s a sign he may have a better-than-other-Dems chance to win: not that the Kirk thing will matter to anyone in 2028, but that he will be willing to say things that annoy politically aware left-liberals (like me) but play well with persuadable voters.

I loved Spider-Noir if only because it was endlessly entertaining to watch one of our greatest living actors obviously having the time of his life.

Like Jackson Pollack rolling in paint shouting “wheeeeeeeeee!”

I finally was able to buy decent seats to see the Odyssey in 70mm! Avoiding spoilers so far, but looking forward to seeing how this ties into the Dune universe and the MCU!!
‘THE ODYSSEY’ has passed $1 billion internationally.

The first time a non-sequel or non-remake film has reached this mark since ‘Avatar’.

Since we’re doing makeup discourse, men, you can wear makeup, and you probably should.

Unless you go full glam, hardly anyone will notice because hardly anyone expects it. Just one or two steps can dramatically improve your appearance.

Lots of reasons Josh Shapiro won’t be the nominee, but this is one of them.

“Lowered the flag for Charlie Kirk” is a poetically beautiful way of of saying that someone sees all the horrible things being done by the right and has decided that the best thing to do is to try to earn their votes.
Still thinking about Josh Shapiro lowering the flag for Charlie Kirk

I’m more convinced than ever that using commercial AI in any capacity whatsoever is class treason.

All we’re doing is killing jobs and the planet to make rich people richer.
As GOP postures against data centers, here’s what their moneyman Elon Musk just demanded at G20 on data centers:

“It is pretty straightforward, you have to have an environment that is relatively free of regulation. New things must be default legal instead of default illegal.”

I can’t imagine a more doomed community than a bunch of 1 percenters facing the mildest of adversities.
This is where the 1% will go to restart civilization after a nuclear attack.

But it for me thinking: what if the uber wealthy built these bunkers for more people — and not for nuclear attacks but for the climate crisis that will get us all — instead of trying to leave the planet?

This poll just says that a decade of anti-trans propaganda from the far right to the NYT has had the intended effect.

I’ve had dozens of simple conversations with trans sports skeptical normies who really just want kids to have fun and quickly see what a non-issue this actually is.
Pew Research Center poll on “transgender athletes competing on sports teams that don’t match their birth sex”:

• 27% of American adults are somewhat/very/extremely comfortable with it
• 73% are not comfortable with it

Democrats are also NOT comfortable with it: 55-44% margin.

The harder Trump fails, the easier it will be to hold the Nuremberg 2.0 reckoning we’re going to need to survive as a country.
It's pretty far down the list of outrages, but I hate the way my government has me rooting against my country on the global stage.
