We had a World Cup! 15 games in 5 days. What's better than spending 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at a ballpark everyday for 5 days. It was the most fun. I got to meet the coolest people. We saw some great games and some blowouts. Can't wait for next year. @wbht.bsky.social @iwbc4me.bsky.social

Yorkville is half an hour north from where I grew up. I hope he never rests in peace.
Former Republican Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert died this morning.

For 16 years, while he was a coach and government teacher at Yorkville High School in Yorkville, Illinois, Hastert sexually abused at least four boys (and likely more).

Happy Banned Books Week to all who celebrate and all should celebrate. We must stand up for this freedom to read. We must speak up for those standing up for the freedom to read. Let books be!
Let books be.

Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, an annual observation started more than 40 years ago in response to a sudden surge in attempts to censor or remove books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Sound familiar?

Find ways to get involved and spread the word: https://bit.ly/4yvixbB.

Indifference is what the billionaires hope you’ll display. If you want to weigh in as a citizen, show some gumption. It’s not a perfect system, it never will be, but that doesn’t let you off the hook from trying your best.
Please and thank you.
Robert De Niro has a message to share. The November is our time to shine at the polls. Fuck those ICE goons and just get there.

I know this isn’t useful but it’s weird how “the president should be coherent” was a Very Important Thing just a few years ago and then suddenly wasn’t.
Trump: "I take an aspirin a day. I don't know if it works but psychologically I need it. It thins the hell out of your blood I guess ... They want me to go down to the 80. I take the 386. I don't know what the hell it is. It's a monster. They said, 'Sir, you don't need that!'"

Pagliocca said Marsh has “full support” from the Sky front office and will not be “on the hot seat” next year.

Everyone involved in this process — including the Palantir employees — have to be investigated and probably go to jail.
NEW: DHS agents tracked people observing ICE arrests, photographed them, ran their plates, pulled personal information, and added them to a Palantir database, according to newly unsealed court filings.

Eight years ago, Illinois faced the nation's biggest fiscal challenge — budget turmoil, unpaid debt, and a credit rating downgraded 24 times.

Now, we're in the strongest financial position in decades — 8 balanced budgets, 12 credit-rating upgrades, and no overdue bill backlog.

Listening to Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit wave away the sexual assault charges against DeShaun Watson — even saying “winning is the best deodorant” — was pretty jarring, especially this week.

Thread.
So I’ve got this right:

While the whole country is talking about the Cornell 7 the folks behind TNF decided to run an interview w/ a QB accused of sexual assault & harassment by two dozen women.

An interview that never mentioned the crimes and had (clearly) pre-approved questions & no follow-ups.

Aces vs. Fever is far more entertaining. And so far, no one has mentioned Deshaun Watson.
