How is it that I'm only NOW discovering The @PushcartPrize.bsky.social accepts REPRINTS?! All those previously published poems I could've nominated since 2020!! Gah! Will need to think very carefully about what to put forward next month from @iamb.uk. 🤔

That time of year again. You close the curtains earlier each evening. You want something warm, nourishing. Wave twenty-seven of @iamb.uk has got you. Make a nest on the sofa, pull the blankets around you, and settle down with 45 poems read by their authors.

Cat ownership isn't always fun. One of our nine dragged a dead pigeon through the house last night – dropping it on @knittedteacosy.bsky.social's foot. I'd later discover the bird had been dead awhile and was riddled with maggots. Same cat came bounding in at 2:30am with a screaming frog in his maw.

For a guy who wound up with nails in both of his hands and feet, Jesus was a pretty lousy carpenter.

Dymo machines are expensive these days! Mind you, you're just paying for the label ...

Twenty-five years since I, like so many around the world, watched dumbfounded as terrorists attacked the World Trade Centre in New York. My brother called me from a McDonald's in some service station to insist I switch on the TV news. Spent the next two hours in my dressing gown glued to the screen.

Just seen a microlight go overhead. Reminds me of my youthful ambition to fly hang-gliders.

All the parents across England and Wales this week, taking their first stress-free shit in nearly seven weeks. 🫡

My other journal, @afterpoetry.com, has beaten @iamb.uk to the punch by publishing an exquisite ekphrastic poem from @johnadlam.bsky.social ahead of his appearance in wave twenty-seven from September 15th. For John, it's all gravy!
My poem 'Still life' was published last night as the full moon strained for a gap in the cloud cover over South London.. www.afterpoetry.com/poem/aug-28-... A thousand thanks to you @markantonyowen.com for all your support and encouragement and *superlative* publishing care and curation...❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
