This isn't *just* a sincere and committed actor and director trying to save something of value for a West Yorkshire community.

He's backed by experts in the arts and heritage sectors. These are serious people, with an important goal. Let's bring this to as many eyes as possible! 👍

Oh blimey, here we go again. Time to vote in the National Trust AGM to keep so-called 'Restore Trust' off the council. Use the quick vote to ensure we don't split the anti-Restore vote. Or.... 1/2 www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...
Annual General Meeting
Your Annual General Meeting will take place online and in person on Saturday 7th November 2026 at the STEAM Museum, Swindon.

Vital all members vote, even if your only interest are the cream teas. There are nasty forces afoot trying to bring right wing attitudes to bear on Trust policy.

Answer the email, follow the link, and accept all council "quick vote" recommendations.

Do not assume we're safe.

Vote.
It's that time of year again: annual elections of Council Members for the magnificent National Trust. Should you wish to vote for the Nomination Committee's recommended candidates, they are on page 18 of your booklet. 'Restore' and 'Reclaim' are again in the fray.

Votes are due in by 30 October.

National Trust election time.

Time to vote in the annual AGM again.

Vital members cast their vote to ensure that subversive elements are denied opportunities to introduce far right policies to Trust management.

International athletes body have issued guidelines requesting cameramen and producers avoid angles that compromise the dignity of female athletes.

Is there a case for WTA to follow suit?

Or one might visit BinFace's public web-site where all his work is described by the face behind the Bin:

Can't get more open and public than that.

An example Farage could follow.

Surely there’s some kind of penalty for being this utterly contemptuous of your constituents?

And he’s being PAID to be an MP while not doing any of the things an MP is paid to do. If this was any other job he’d be fired.
Farage’s Parliament attendance record:

• 1 fisheries meeting out of 42

• 1 parliamentary vote out of 77

• 0 constituency surgeries

• Parliament participation rate: 32.8%

He does not care about ordinary people or Britain at all.

Had my postal vote paper for local council elections.

Suspicious number of "independant" candidates, after press reports of Restore fielding Trojan Horse candidates as "independants" I'm steering well clear.

True independants should litigate against Restore misrepresenting candidates to mislead.
In Wales they now do a cool thing where candidates have to list their recent party membership history. It throws up lots of interesting findings for voters.

Like Dai Richards (bottom) - 'independent' candidate who has been a member of four far-right parties in the space of a year...

Keir Starmer has announced it's only right the government will replace the ambulances.

But the charity deserves much further support to rebuild their service than just the vehicles.

So still support this to help them build back better.
Hi all,

I’ve set up a fundraiser for #Hatzola #GoldersGreen

Please share this widely so that hate never wins and the community can hopefully get their four ambulances back.

I’m going to be donating myself.

I’m hoping to raise funds to replace four ambulances that were damaged by arson at a Jewish charity in London.

Both Pratchett quotes apposite to Trump.
Discworld QOTD, from Guards! Guards!

"‘I believe you find life such a problem because you think that there are the good people and the bad people,’ said [Vetinari]. ‘You’re wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.’"
Discworld QOTD, from Monstrous Regiment

“Stopping a battle is much harder than starting it. Starting it only requires you to shout ‘Attack!’ but when you want to stop it, everyone is busy.”

Is this a Trump quote perchance?
"Can we drop your ego for a moment? This is important." "If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now."

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

The "stock" of Alex Pretti has quadrupled if this video demonstrates that he was more than a passive observer of ICE atrocities, but also willing to take direct action against them.

Trump struggling to defend his goons reputation.
I don’t want to think about Trump’s latest post about Alex Pretti, but we all must, esp. as funding discussions continue.

The president is talking about the “stock” of a man subjected to an extrajudicial killing by federal agents who threw him to the ground and shot him repeatedly in the back.

If the far-right are serious about their cause...

...least they could do is learn the Union Jack flag has a top and bottom and left and right side.

Any decent copy has a pole side with a toggle at the top and a loop on the bottom to raise it up a flagpole.

The cheap tat off ebay doesn't.
My @prospectmagazine.co.uk column this month looks at whether Labour and the Conservatives can revive themselves by somehow shifting political debate back towards the one-time comfortable territory of the economy and away from the culture war. Not least because the two are interconnected anyway.
How culture wars hurt the economy
Try as they might, UK politicians can’t divorce economic issues from cultural ones in order to focus on the latter alone
