Academics with comfortable jobs, tenured, a billionaire, the people who hunted Arday across Twitter made my skin crawl.
The gleeful, violent, vicious joy they displayed.
The "jokes"
The dismissal of the suggestion that there could be consequences.

Horrific. So many gleeful ghouls, ranging from far right to liberal, who jumped on this issue to vent their spleen over everything they think they’re entitled to if only they didn’t have to share with people they, deep down or shallowly, deem unworthy. A murder by social media witch hunt.
B*njamin Ryan spent whole days posting about Arday endlessly on Twitter.
He seems to have deleted/be deleting his posts now.
But plenty of academics were very happy to continue in his comments and elsewhere.
Hounding someone to death is unlikely to weigh much on the minds or hearts of these people.

its worth asking whether this ending would have happened without the endless, gleeful, hunting and dismantling of Arday's choices on Twitter, where he represented all the sins of DEI made flesh for a range of assorted disgruntled academics who once had to go to a training and hated it

Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."
For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study
Women are using AI significantly less then men and it’s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.

One BIG problem though.
Kazakhstan pavilion in Venice was supposed to have this work of Asel Kadyrkhanova on Stalinist repressions as one of the central pieces at the exhibit.
The vice minister of culture of Kazakhstan came to “inspect” it the day before pre-opening & ordered to remove it

What’s so weird about men in power is how when they face scandal and should step down the world acts like no one else can do their jobs. Bottstein, Wasserman, these aren’t irreplaceable men! Stop with this delusion.

We're seeing a massive institutional deportation and state violence apparatus being built and it honestly feels like people dont grasp the sheer scale of it and what already is in place. For every horrific video of masked feds kidnapping people there are so many people pushing paper to help.
NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

one cynically funny thing about Hegseth thinking he can retcon the genocide atop which America was built is that the rest of the world is not fooled & will never be fooled. World history will always teach that the Army committed organized murder of civilians at Wounded Knee. It’s generally known
