I Deliberately Bet Like a Problem Gambler. DraftKings Made Me a VIP.

Life has changed dramatically in the last 30 years.

We all use the internet far more, and are far less likely to read books, host friends, attend parties, play cards, attend classes, join clubs, go to picnics, and stay late to work.

It's very clear from @akbarshahidahmed.bsky.social's book Crossing the Red Line that Biden's enabling of Israel's wars paved the way for everything Trump has done in the region. Biden shielded Israel from the consequences of its aggressive actions and abandoned diplomacy with Iran. He set the table
Now it’s true that Biden did not launch a war on Iran, and anyone cleverly pointing out that Dems & Repubs have had identical Iran policies the past quarter century is deeply wrong. But that’s not “averting” a war! If anything, Biden’s bear-hug of Netanyahu set things up for Trump’s war with Israel

Politics is so awesome because once you trick people into thinking you're a good consultant or polling guru or whatever, it becomes impossible for you to do anything but fail up. Sarah Longwell had the wrongest possible take you could have about the 2024 election and somehow it RAISED her stature.

Global fuel subsidies may top $1 trillion this year — amid $100 crude, elevated borrowing costs and strained budgets.

After all, it is the thought that counts.
When it comes to a US president enabling mass slaughter abroad, really it is the private frustration that is most important.
