Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig – Trapped between a rock and a hard place
In this age of newer anime and especially the Science Saru “The Ghost in the Shell”, I still think it’s valuable to go back to the classics. Yes, I am saying that Stand Alone Complex is a classic n…

The new Rayearth episode was good, but 90's clamp designs don't feel right with modern art techniques.

After 18 episodes, I really am starting to believe that Argento Soma is just literature. It just hits on all my personal check marks of story telling easily.

After watching 14 episodes, I really do feel like I love Argento Soma. It's such a unique show that has so much to say.

The Mecha battles are awesome yes, but there is a softness of deft of hand with the writing that makes it all just so special.

Short Thoughts on Scattered Shows
This has been a heavy past couple weeks and the next couple weeks are about the same. A lot of performances, a lot of outside work projects, and just so many things just going on. So, I haven’t been watching as much media these days in general. I have cut down on how much media I’ve watched. Not nearly as much Tokusatsu, not nearly as many western shows, and I’ve really cut down on how much anime I’ve watched.

In this season of seasons, Jaadugar and Goodbye Lara were both special. The Ghost in the Shell was pretty great too.

I can say that I did like how Goodbye Lara ended, even if its a bit tragic, with Lara having her own identity and future after fighting for it throughout the whole show.

8 episodes into Argento Soma and I like that it's slow and taking it's time. I like the prevailing sort of mystery and getting to know these characters. The mecha action when it occurs is pretty great and worth waiting for.

Finished the best show of this season by a country mile and it fills me with sadness that it isn't the show that everyone talked about every week.

I can only hope one day we'll get an actual second season, but for now, I'll have to read the manga.

Go watch Jaadugar.

It's a good thing Crunchyroll basically abandoned social media engagement beyond posting screencaps of popular shows, otherwise they'd see everyone dunking on them with righteous fury

In a day where giants like Jaadagur and Daemons of Shadow Realm (I really am enjoying this one now), Star Detective Precure isn't close behind.

This current Precure took the usual "I am watching this for fun" to "this is something truly special". It's just so well thought out and wonderful.

Dolly Parton and Tim Curry passing away at the same age around the same time is one of the painful round of celebrity passings possible.

RIP to two icons.

Oh, for fuck's sake. If you had an "AI" generate the text, then you're not the author. "Oh, but the ideas are mine." Motherfucker, ideas aren't copyrightable, and neither is the text if "AI" barfed it out. In neither a logistical nor legal sense does the term "author" convey to you.
Dean of Science at Stellenbosch University writes that although AI generates almost all the words for his articles (including this one):

"AI did almost all of the writing. I remain the expert and the thought leader behind the piece."

When AI writes the words, who is the author?
After an AI detector classified one of my opinion pieces as entirely AI-generated, I found myself questioning where authorship ends, where expertise begins and what readers deserve to know.
