As a kid, these covers were absolutely alluring. The gritty, over-engineered metalworks riddled with sinuous runes and bejeweled notches seemed to be everywhere in the 2000s. This unique aesthetic imprinted itself on my mind ever since and, today, still contributes/informs some of my own designs.
26 Years Ago: Monster Manual 3e was released.
One the core rulebooks for 3e, it updated 321 older monsters to third edition rules. It was awarded the Origins Award for Best Graphic Design.

It's your job to visit ailing beasts and forage for the reagents needed to cure them.
