Zohran Mamdani released 170K documents revealing that post-9/11 asbestos levels remained dangerous for months, despite officials saying the air was safe.

As we saw at the start of COVID, officials still treat essential workers as expendable.

This is a long-overdue step in the right direction.

an underrated part of classic Star Trek is that the mechanics of every farfetched sci-fi plot were calmly explained at a nice staff meeting

I really start to miss those when watching a modern SF plot that refuses to give a proper speculative explanation of the "science" part

this is a great disclaimer that explains a lot of disconnect I have when discussing Christian doctrine with people - I'm primarily interested in what Christians *should* believe given their textual sources, not the sociology of existing beliefs

If you're still using Twitter as your main channel for announcements, here's a wakeup call to find somewhere else to post/share from.

Remember, people without an account are VERY limited to what they can see when you share a Twitter link.

You're closing the rest of the world off.

Boycott The New York Times

Fidel Castro was NOT a dictator. He was an intensely popular politician both for his acts of heroism in overthrowing a brutal dictator, and his commitment to improving the lives of Cubans.

Cuba has a grassroots democracy that is without parallels in the world. And revered/studied by many.
All the Fidel fluffing by DSA is egregious. You don't ever gotta hand it to dictators. Also, Rubio is not trying to destroy the Cuban people *as a people.* Not every war crime is a genocide.

But the actual meat and potatoes of this DSA statement seems on target? www.dsausa.org/statements/d...
