Landmark Dublin project offering “significant” cycling connectivity expected to be submitted to planning board soon
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council expects to submit a planning application for the  8km DLR Connector to An Coimisiún Pleanála, the national planning board, in Q3/Q4 this year, council officials have told councillors. Cllr Eoin O'Driscoll (Fine Gael), who represents Stillorgan, said: "The DLR Connector will create a continuous cycling connection from Dundrum through to Dún Laoghaire. For Stillorgan, one of the key pieces is here on the Lower Kilmacud Road, where the existing cycle lane currently comes to an end outside Mount Anville Primary School.

There's never an emergency meeting about homelessness, never an emergency meeting about the public mental health services, never an emergency meeting about public transport but if someone tries to get a one-up on sports funding....ooooh boy!
A shower of sniveling slibhín parish pump parasites.
Fianna Fáil held an emergency meeting tonight amid frustration over Fine Gael politicians publicising details of a new sports grants scheme before it had been finalised.

The row is now expected to be discussed by the Taoiseach and Tánaiste.

Has anyone done the song from her point of view? She just had an average Friday, met an unremarkable English lad who couldn't play pool and was a danger at darts. Had a bit of a shift and a couple of drinks but didn't give him her number. #speirgorm
This week in my #calling353 piece for @thejournal.ie I consider the Ed Sheeran song “Galway Girl” and what its lyrics reveal about its composer.

Ed Sheeran has given the Irish a chance to air gripes with Galway Girl jrnl.ie/7166379

The Green Party in government cut public transport fares by 50% for young adults, by 20% for all, free for children up to 8 years old, free for people with disabilities like epilepsy.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael ...
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are trying to put the blame of these public transport fare increases on the National Transport Authority.

Make no mistake - these fare increases are a political decision and a result of this Govt's disinterest in public transport and their disregard for its users.

To raise public transport fares by 15% in the middle of a cost of living crisis is a slap in the face to these commuters, who see the hundreds of millions that Government has spent protecting some sectors from inflation costs, yet they are expected to pay out more, every day, every journey.
