Now this is the way of decommissioning outdated robots, Figure robotics showing how! 🤖 And only in Finland, because other steel mills refused! 😅

The "new" Halo : Campaign Evolved is just as awesome as ever, just looking prettier than previous versions. But damn, now I have to play the rest of the Halo games, again, for the whole story... 😅

Playing with the Antigravity A1 360 drone for the first time. Pretty cool to fly around in first person view and the 360 video recording provides interesting editing opportunities in "post production". Also includes a cool built-in "VR" tutorial mode for safe flight practice

Peak summer in #Helsinki, cloudy and 13°C (~55°F) this morning. 😅 Still, it's better than the 40+ °C (100+°F) killer heat waves of Central Europe in recent weeks. 🥵💀

Gotta love how the city of Helsinki is providing free lunches for kids throughout the summer while school is out. One guaranteed warm meal a day, at least. Our taxes at work.

My daughter needed an audio cable with 3.5mm jacks on both ends. And lo and behold, I found one in my Box Of Cables. Never throw away your cables, store them all in a Box of Cables, you will need them one day. 😅

I can' t believe this timeline we're in. Somehow we got sidetracked into the Biff Tannen timeline in Back To The Future 2.

Sounds familiar?

"Biff is portrayed as a hulking, belligerent, dim-witted bully who obtains what he wants by intimidating others into doing his work for him... (cont'd)

Met a pack of four roe deer while cross-country skiing today. Just casually jumping across the ski track in front of me. 8 kilometers from Helsinki city center, a few hundred meters from the busy Ring 1 road, well inside the suburbs but within the central park forest. So nice to have them around. 🤩

Listening to the Good Ol'Tunes, from the mid-90s, with mid-90s computer gfx on the cover. 😅 Still holding up pretty well even now 30 years later. Some of the modern techno goes quite a bit harder though.

Practising cross-country skiing in the backwoods of #Helsinki, among WW1 battle trenches, #prepping for the next Winter War... Remains to be seen who it will be against, Russia or the USA... 🙄

In light of recent events I'm becoming more & more convinced that we live in an advanced SimCity simulation and that the player has grown bored of the former times of peaceful & prosperous scientific, technological and economic developments, and has started launching disasters to spice things up 1/3

Wanted to do a bit of vibe-coding with Gemini 3 Pro and decided to make a classic BattleZone variant as a browser game, with 3d terrain. 🤓 Not perfect, and by no means a "one-shot" exercise, but a couple of hours of prompting led into this state of game play. Not bad.

This trend of AI covers of "real songs" in entirely different styles is getting out hand. Just discovered this 1950's Motown Soul version of Eminem's Without me and I think it is incredibly good. Amazing really. 🔥

Unesco is broadcasting a live Jean-Michel Jarre concert from Samarkand (Uzbekistan) on Youtube right now. Nice. The stream is going to be online for 24 hours only, if I understood correctly, so get to it soon, if interested. www.youtube.com/live/j_hCwTL...

The War Games movie from the 80s is on TV here. A classic, with dial-up modem comms with computers, payphones, video game arcades, ... and delusional AI computer system that almost destroys the world. 😱 Scary stuff. 😅

First time I've heard in an airplane safety announcement that #VR headsets must not be worn during take-off or landing. People wear/use headsets during flights these days? 😎 I guess I haven't traveled by plane in a while

Meta announced this week some updates to the Horizon TV app for Quest devices and one intriguing feature is support for 3D movies. There's a demo of it with the trailer of the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash movie. It's like watching a 3D movie in theater. Pretty cool actually.

Bloody hell, the #Foundation series script writers exercised their artistic freedoms too much again. 🙄 Latest episode added some unexpected twists to the original story, again. Looks like the next season(s) is going to venture off the trilogy...

I find it pretty incredible that a thing the size/height of an apartment building can be hurtling down towards Earth from space at thousands of km/h and then just slam on rocket engines for a few seconds to come to a hovering stand still at an altitude of a couple hundred meters. 🤯

Foundation season 3 is shaping up nicely, seems closer to the original books than the first two seasons. Or maybe it's just me. Having read the books numerous times I have my own vision how they should look on film, but so far the tv series has 'deviated' from that too much... 😅

'Tis the #Blueberry Season for free picking. The forest gnome approves. 😉 Although the current heat wave in Finland makes this a hot and sweaty activity right now... 🥵

The Matrix is on TV again, must be the umpteenth time I've seen it by now. But still it's as awesome as the first time I saw it in the movie theater in Chicago in 1999. Like 26 years ago 👀 And now even more topical than back then, considering the recent developments, when "Humanity gave birth to AI"
