It's Opening Day! Baseball is back on BlueSky. I've spent the winter building out the baseball.blue family. The main domain goes to the Baseball Writers and Sites feed. As always feel free to sign up to be added if you're a writer or a site: docs.google.com/forms/d/1Bkh...

Tonight (Tues 9/29) & tomorrow (Weds 9/30) at 8pm ET, I'm livestreaming from home via facebook.com/7thinningstretch2020, taking song requests while you watch the Red Sox play their first two 2026 playoff games down in the Bronx. Raising money for GREATER BOSTON FOOD BANK and FOOD BANK FOR NEW YORK.

Crochet said he feels ready to contribute on the playoff roster. “Now we’ll see if anyone else agrees.”

Red Sox would still be waiting for the storm to clear if Saturady went into a rain delay.

Here we go
MLB announces Red Sox and Cubs will officially play the third game of this series on Sunday in Tampa at 3:05 pm

This is probably the only time things line up for this specific bit of history so I'd love to see, say, 3.1 innings at Fenway, game goes on pause for rain, resume at The Trop before Game 3 on whatever day that is.
Red Sox announce they’ve moved the start time for Game 2 of today’s doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs at Fenway Park from 6:05 p.m. to 5:35 p.m. The change was made in consultation with Major League Baseball due to potential weather impacts later this evening.

Gonna be really weird watching the Red Sox and Cubs play in The Trop.
#Nor'easter arrives on the southern #NewEngland coast around 1- 3 p.m., #Boston ~ 5. Friday night, things deteriorate.

Saturday is the worst day — rounds of heavy rain, strong winds, flooding in spots & along the coast.

Sunday will be about 60-70% as intense as Saturday, with more breaks.

@massgovernor.bsky.social how about stopping this instead of working on a gas tax holiday?

Once again, competitors (and their media) draw the wrong causal arrows. The Brewers succeed by making *good baseball decisions* using market size as a smokescreen, not by selling off players for the sake of doing so. A salary cap is meaningless in these decisions.

Glad nobody realizes this though!

Here's how things line up right now with the rotation. All kinds of options available for WCS and they got Tolle and Bennett a bunch of rest.

That 10/4 off day is helpful in giving the WCS game 1 starter an extra day, especially if it's Tolle.
