I think? long dark brown body, reddish legs, very large side set eyes. four small dark brown spots on thorax southern purple mint moth (Pyrausta laticlavia) bright pink and orange moth with spindly legs and antenna thrown back over its back

Wed was a nightmare, 110°F high / 84 low. think I had a touch of heat exhaustion, but put up the lights anyway.

Furcula cineroides, only 2nd showing this year, first time I’ve seen the underwing

a large, bright green moth, wings fully spread. There are two thin white lines across the wings, going edge to edge. the body has three white spots with reddish/gold edges - almost look like burn marks.

I’m not sure how I can begin to describe this moth. grey, black and white, but densely patterned with stripes and spots. even its legs are fancy, with bands of color same moth on its back. The underside of the wings have lovely gold markings in addition to the grey and white. I moved the moth because I was worried about stepping on it.. and it decided to play dead. same moth, on a piece of tree bark. additional lighting is used, but no flash. soft golden highlights are visible in addition to the grey and white. scales on the wings are clearly visible.

Anyway, in more important news: moths.

- Vestal, AKA raspberry ripple moth
- Oak lantern
- Furious grass veneer (elbow-striped grass veneer to be specific)
A beautiful and delicate moth on dry grass. It's very elegantly triangular, with pale wings that have a raspberry coloured stripe across them forming a v shape. A+ good moth pal, very magical. A glorious little micromoth with extremely long antennas, longer than it's wings. It's kinda shaped like a tiny body-board. Maybe it takes other small moths surfing. Anyway it's reddish purple with yellow patches, & is fluffy and delightful. 11 out of 10 good moth, would recommend. An absolutely livid-looking wedge-shaped micromoth. Maybe it also just read that crapulent sexist ableist article in the Torygraph. Anyhoo, its tiny long thin wings are silvery with a darker v-shaped stripe, and it has big round rage-filled eyes. Perfect furious friend, no notes.
