This is sad news. Simon was a big help with this story that showed Howard Lutnick apparently lied about his business entanglement with Jeffrey Epstein—a story that deserves more attention.

I’d have died a few times over without modern medicine, but, if I were fortunate enough to have survived back then, I’m pretty sure I’d have been killed as a witch in many different historical settings.
Kind of puts a damper on time travel fantasies, much to my dismay.

It's interesting when you ask people to imagine what their life would be like if they were transported historically to the past.
Some people seem to assume they'd be in the relatively well-off 1-2% and it would go fine for them.
Meanwhile I just assume I'd be a secluded female peasant.
