One time when I was in the hospital for a week I wrote a note on my dinner order form asking if I could please have a larger brownie and each time the sent me a progressively smaller brownie while my notes became more pleading and melodramatic
Taco Bell stopped engaging with my crossfaded demands in 2021, I still occasionally DM them asking for Baja Blast dunk tanks and ten million dollars for literature, it stays on read lol
back when i was still drinking i used to get wasted at home alone and email the cheesecake factory’s public relations department demanding that they establish a writers’ residency for me

I went to a meeting today. After the meeting someone emailed a bunch of obviously AI-generated questions of the facilitator. The facilitator presented a bunch of AI-generated answers. Is this what we're doing now?

Ballet teacher shared some heavy stuff tonight, leading to a group hug where they left me a gap. I stepped into the gap belatedly and put one hand on someone's backpack & one hand on some guy's face. Just pressed my hand to his face for the duration of the hug as if that's how humans do hugs

Take a Break (one of the bigger magazines) is replacing all of its short story writers with AI. Easy to dismiss a throwaway lifestyle magazine but this is a canary in a very dangerous coalmine.

Nautical horror and god-body horror are rich genres and this is my love letter to them all. It’s a furious rebellion against deathlessness, against the urge to sacrifice other lives to extend your own in all the ways we do that.

I’m proud of the book. It’s weird, fully on its own terms & grim fun
