ALSO - Leonardo was NOTORIOUS about not actually finishing or delivering his commissions. So, in that way - I guess maybe we (artists) should idolize Leo. Take money from the rich and give them nothing in return. Maybe fuck off to France and scam another minor noble.
This is elitist bullshit. These same people refuse to acknowledge people like Leyendecker or Rockwell as capital-A “Artists” because they made art “with commercial intent” ignoring that every famous painting that Michaelangelo or Leonardo ever did were paid commissions. Illustration is art. Period.

I went to Lincoln Park Zoo today (did you know that LPZ is free? I did not!) and also wandered around the Nature Walk around the park. Saw a LOT of birds! (I really need to get a camera adapter for my binoculars) #chicago
