At 18, I got myself vaccinated.
My mother claimed religious exemptions to skirt school requirements when I was a child.
Recently, I find myself reflecting on how lucky I was to grow up then and not now. And how grateful I am to the largely vaccinated community I grew up around, who kept me safe.
