Do you ever find yourself thinking, “Man, I wish I could read about beer, but I’ll die if I go that long without gay ennui”? Well, I’m the Minneapolis-based beer writer for you.

Am I the best beer writer? No. Am I better than the beer writers for the Strib? Yes. Am I gay? Also yes. Duh. See above.

Trans rights is inherently a bodily autonomy issue. Just like abortion rights is. We can't have gender equity or reproductive freedom without trans rights. Full stop.

You can yell at me and make up shit that you claim I've said if it makes you feel better. I don't care. I'm right. And you know it.

Just remembered an “Are you goth?” quiz my friend gave me in high school and suddenly realized it was probably better at diagnosing neurodivergence than most current psych inventories.

I spent entire minutes writing up these important findings on chili-sexual orientation, but Bluesky doesn’t want to hear it apparently. Anti-intellectualism is what that is.
Chili toppings and orientation:

None: Ace
Toppings on side: Demi
Chips on top: Hetero top.
Chips on bottom: Hetero bottom.
Cheese on top: Homo top.
Cheese on bottom: Homo bottom.
Sour cream: Vanilla.
Jalapeños: Kinky.
Tomatoes: Femme.
Onions: Masc.
Avocado: Pillow Princess.
Limes: Service/Power.

Any “Democrat” that can’t hold this line is a Republican.
We're being told that if we sacrifice the rights of some people, then the rest of us get to keep our rights.

We all know that's some BS.

My youngest, who is turning 8, made a birthday list. “Creepy doll” is my favorite item on the list and just refers to the “American Girl but cheaper” dolls that they personally find quite creepy.

The idea that any of these people would consider Charlie Kirk worth lining up to debate is wild. Hell, Nietzsche wouldn’t even line up to debate the other people in the line—he’d be too busy sub-tweeting them in his next book and pining after women who didn’t like him (Nietzsche was OG Twitter).
fuck, now this is some content

The fact that the US has bungled its relationship with Canada is mind blowing. We should have an open border with EU-style residency and work auth. I mean, I’ve had more culture shock going down my street than I’ve had going to multiple Canadian cities (incl Montreal). Make it make sense.

“The female orgasm is the woman’s responsibility” is basically the lesbian ethos, tbh.
The female orgasm is the woman's responsibility. I know most women want men to do 100% of everything, but seriously, take some accountability for your own body and pleasure.

If you see a woman or nonbinary person on the internet talking about bikes and you think you have important mansplaining to do, please just trust that their wife has their back and can help them out *when asked,* and you are not needed.
I am *once again* reminding men of the internet (& world) to stop assuming men are the only people who know anything about bikes.

Unless someone is explicitly asking for advice, please don't assume we need or want your advice.

Cool? Cool.

Anyone know of a company that does home network wiring in Minneapolis? Giving up on mesh wifi's ability to solve my weird old house without wiring up the base stations at the very least.

I know we’re supposed to be wary of algorithms and data collection in social media, but I often find myself wanting to give them *more* information.

Ex: Instagram now shows me videos of men splitting large logs because I paused on one once. But, I’d rather see videos of women splitting large logs.

Alumni bumper stickers are great. How else would you know that the person that just aggressively passed you and your family while biking on a residential street went to the same school you did? It hits different when you know the folks endangering you have the same liberal arts education you do.

It’s actually kind of wild it took Republicans so long to exploit MAHA as a concept given that their entire M.O. has been playing off of people’s fears and anxieties.

Listen, I’m not saying “don’t let grown men who wear Get Up Kids shirts put it in you,” but I’ve now run across two dogshit dads in Get Up Kids shirts at the farmer’s market—different dads, different days. So, tread lightly?

Introducing: Thomas Potato

2026 has been a year of pain and heartbreak for my family & for my city.

We brought this little pal home 2 weeks ago and he is bringing us SO much joy and laughter.

I hope we have many, many years ahead together.

Incubus’ S.C.I.E.N.C.E album is quintessential teenage angst music, but every year that goes by it continues to hold up.

We need to teach the youth the classics. 🙏🏻

My uncle died last night, 48 days after his youngest brother—my dad. We weren’t very close, but he was one of the first queer folks I knew, along with my aunt—his and my dad’s sister. He was a very kind man who loved playing the organ, and had survived both the Vietnam War and the AIDS crisis. 1/2

Small businesses are getting fucked by retail rent and some of them are blaming it on bike lanes and parking rather than landlords not understanding that the value of their property is tied to the success of the businesses that rent it and there is therefore a ceiling to what they can charge. 1/3

Sometimes I get way too caught up in silly little arguments with anti-bike people online... when all around me I see stuff like THIS! 😍

Organizations like @bikemn.bsky.social are giving people the knowledge and skills they need to bike (for transportation, exercise and/or fun). Change is happening.
Hey, @bikemn.bsky.social Adult Learn-to-Ride program? This is your fault.🎉
