Many people asked how Arday was able to become an academic at Cambridge. Not nearly enough people have asked how the hell Cofnas was able to become an academic at Cambridge.
"We know that stereotypes generally have a basis in reality" is something you'd expect from a 19th century phrenologist.

I had not some across this before, but if you want an example Nathan Cofnas’ scholarship, this is a doozy. Again I say, being sacked is not the problem; being recruited in the first place is what deserves scrutiny.

I have also signed.
I've signed, but these institutions all protect one another. And i don't mean that in a conspiratorial way necessarily. I just see their common interest in protecting the status quo. Inquiries are an expensive to remind us that - to them - life is cheap.

Durkheim taught us that suicide is never just a personal/individual issue, it always has social/cultural/political causes.
Over the next few days journalists will try to remove or minimise the direct media/political causes of Jason Arday’s death and try to individualise it.
