I’ve always loved watching ovenbirds (called João de Barro or “Muddy John” in my region of Brazil) building their houses. There was one inside the house in the picture compacting the walls with its beak. It takes them from 2 weeks to a month to complete a house.

This is my grandparents yard. Every fruit tree was planted by them, and I was lucky to enjoy it all as a kid. Today I took my 7 year old there and he called it a fruit forest and a magical place. My grandparents are no longer alive but I am sure they’d have been happy to hear that ❤️
