Were you personally victimized by rwylm Ed and Stede’s years’ long slow burn? Are you a Gabe St. James fan? Do you believe Stede did Henry dirty?
@dimsimkitty.bsky.social has created the greatest treat for us all 🥲💖🌈

Still a ways to go on this next rwylm chapter, but we're getting there--maybe next weekend??🤞 Good news is, it's like 112% fluff by volume 🥹💜
Dishes in hand, they wandered out onto the porch and sat on the swing together, and they chatted and picked at their food and when they were done eating they stayed out there a while longer. Conversation petered off, eventually, and still they stayed there—swaying gently back and forth, thighs pressed close together. Stede reached over and took Ed’s hand, and the bees buzzed in the garden, and the various crickets and cicadas of a New England summer corned on—unseen but heard nevertheless. Some of the sunflower sprouts were tall enough enough that you could see their knobby, spiky green heads that would soon bloom into flowers. The wisteria had begun to drop its blossoms, and the whole front gate was carpeted in pale lilac. Stede tipped his head sideways, resting it on Ed’s shoulder. And still, they rocked back and forth, back and forth. Stede’s eyelashes fluttered as though he might fall back asleep. “C’mon babe, think it’s back to bed for us,” Ed said. His head was feeling pleasantly sunbaked as he heaved himself off the swing, as he stacked their plates and cups in one hand so that he could haul a sleepy Stede upright and guide him by the hand back into the cool, dim house. The change in light left rainbow-colored spots behind his eyes, and he was feeling more and more woozy himself with each passing second. They collapsed into bed together, and Stede was already half asleep, but he still had the wherewithal to grab Ed around the waist and haul him close, clutching him like Ed was his favorite plushie. He was snoring before Ed could even settle in and get comfortable against his pillows. But still, only a few minutes later, Ed was fast asleep too. They napped like two cats twined together, warm in a sunbeam.

Happy WIP Wednesday from the next RWYLM chapter! Anne gets a long overdue birthday present 💖

This chapter still has a ways to go, hoping for mid next week!
EVENTUALLY, IT’S SATURDAY, WHICH MEANS IT’S TIME TO WALK OVER TO MUM’S FOR BRUNCH. WEIRDLY, ED FEELS SORT OF NERVOUS. HIS HANDS ARE ALL SWEATY. THEY’RE HOLDING HANDS, SO STEDE NOTICES STEDE: DARLING? ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? ED: FEEL LIKE YOU’RE THE ONE FUCKING BRINGING ME HOME TO MEET YOUR MUM STEDE CLUCKS HIS TONGUE SYMPATHETICALLY: NO ONE IS GOING TO BE HAPPIER ABOUT THIS THAN YOUR MOTHER. ED: I KNOW. JUST. YOU KNOW…I’VE BEEN RESISTING THIS SO LONG, AND SHE WAS RIGHT. STEDE: YOUR MOTHER LOVES BEING RIGHT. IT’S PROBABLY THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN HER ED LAUGHS: TRUE THEY GET TO THE HOUSE, AND FOR HALF A SEC ED IS SEIZED BY THE INSANE IMPULSE TO KNOCK—A THING HE HAS BASICALLY NEVER DONE HERE. STEDE SHOOTS HIM AN AMUSED LOOK AND OPENS THE DOOR STEDE: HELLO!! WE’RE HERE! MUM COMES BUSTLING INTO THE HALL, SKIDS TO A STOP TO GET A GOOD LOOK AT THE TWO OF THEM—STANDING THERE, HOLDING HANDS MUM: OH. HER WHOLE FACE CRUMPLES, AND SHE STARTS CRYING ED: MUM! HE SHOVES THE BAG OF [WHATEVER FOOD THEY’VE BROUGHT] INTO STEDE’S ARMS AND STRIDES OVER TO HER, PULLING HER INTO A HUG ANNE, WEEPY: NO, NO I’M JUST VERY HAPPY! IT’S JUST SO NICE TO SEE YOU TWO TOGETHER ED LAUGHING, FEELING A LITTLE TEARY HIMSELF NOW: YEAH, YEAH I KNOW ANNE: ARE YOU GOING TO BE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS TOO THEN? ED: MUM, IT’S JUNE ANNE: AND????

“Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords, Our Flag Means Death) has been cast in the CBS and Warner Bros. pilot Regency, from writer and executive producer Tara Hernandez (Mrs. Davis, The Big Bang Theory). The project is in contention for the 2026/27 broadcast season. Regency is a historical spin on the classic multi-cam family sitcom, centered around the upper-middle-class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal in 19th-century England. In a lead role, Darby will play Arthur Tillbrook, head of the family home, Hartford Park. Arthur is heir to a vast cheese empire but prefers to think of himself as a "guy's guy." He will go to great lengths to prove his masculinity, though his privileged upbringing reveals itself every time.”

tfw you're 170k deep in a fic and finally get to a bit you've been planning since the beginning 🎆

(covered for RWYLM spoilers)
He pulled back, still clutching Stede close. “I love you. I love you.” God, that felt good to say. More fireworks boomed overhead. “You do?” Stede asked, expression full of tremulous hope. “Yeah,” Ed grinned him—breathless. “Yeah, course I fucking do, you nut. I’ve loved you every day of my fucking life since I was eleven years old. Can’t shut the fuck up about it. Have you turned the radio on lately?” Ed’s heart was a hummingbird guzzling rocket fuel. His heart was a firework, exploding glitter and stars in his chest. “Okay,” Stede said slowly. His gaze trailed down to Ed’s hand, where he still clutched the envelope of divorce papers.

A NEW CHAPTER in Please Let Me Hold You. Ed and Stede have an announcement!! Also, this chapter features THE CUTEST art by @babykraken.bsky.social (sorry it took so long to get here!) & I couldn't be more honored to have BK illustrate this moment ❤️ #OFMD #ofmdfic

Screenshot of an Our Flag Means Death fanfiction on AO3. Title: Please Let Me Hold You by Baladria. Chapter 60: Dummy for Dummy. Summary: Ed and Stede enjoy staying in on Saturday. Then they have a big announcement on Friday, and Ed has a special gift planned for Stede. Ed reached under his desk and pulled out a box wrapped in turquoise paper and topped with a giant teal organza bow. Biting his lower lip, he handed the box to Stede, who took it with a big smile. “For me?” Stede asked, completely surprised to be given a gift. Ed was waiting for him to open it, still biting his lip, and then Stede understood why Ed was so nervous. Something about this gift was momentous for him, so Stede treated the box with reverence. He didn’t tear off the paper like a kid at Christmas. He worked at it with an art restorer’s fastidiousness, pulling the corners up, turning it over and unsticking the tape that held the last of the paper on the box. Ed took the paper and tossed it behind them, never taking his eyes off Stede as he looked at the gift that sat on his lap. Digital drawing of Stede sitting on Ed's lap. Stede is wearing a turquoise shirt and turquoise cat ear headset. Ed is wearing a purple shirt and purple cat ear headset that has earrings in the ears. Ed's hand is resting upon Stede's which is resting on a purple mouse

Alt S2 opening storyline for Blackbeard that just occurred to me:

Upset about Stede having left him, trying to reinvent himself while having a broken heart, he gets drunk one night, grabs a knife, and gives himself bangs.

Everyone must compliment his new look because they’re terrified of him.
