As someone who loves using an em-dash, its seizure by AI frustrates me to no end. Practicing good grammar just now makes you look like a robot - which is frankly quite damaging to writing as a craft generally.

We are proud to release For a Fair Future, our new Youth Manifesto, calling for many things that effect the youth, from education to the environment, civil liberties to infrastructure.

Take a look at some key policy areas! You can also read our full manifesto by our Linktree (link in bio).

Christ, that alert was terrifying - they could’ve just sent the notification without the alarm!

This is just flat out odd. In fairness he had 5 years in the Treasury back under Blair, so this is surprisingly rational!

Football could or could not be coming home, but it’s probably having nostalgic feelings of its childhood in England during the 12th century

I feel that reactions to the football on Bluesky are the perfect counter to any argument that English liberals/progressives lack national pride.

Saying you're the "most physically attacked" MP when two MPs have been killed in the last decade is just horribly self-absorbed.

The rudderless Foreign Office is making huge cuts to its staff.

The atmosphere is grim. Few staffers are safe from the cull. They describe colleagues in tears as they prepare to re-apply for their own jobs, and probably other people’s too.

Nigel Farage pocketed a £5 million Brexit reward.

When he promised we would be better off, he clearly only meant himself.

10 years on, it's time to end the chaos and fix our broken relationship with Europe, starting by joining the single market.

The British people are sick of being let down by an endless merry-go-round of Prime Ministers while nothing really changes.

This time must be different. It can’t just be about changing who’s in Number 10, it has to be about changing our broken politics so we can fix our country.

🚨 NEW: Ed Davey says the new Prime Minister has to change our "broken politics"

It doesn’t feel like there’s any excitement or gravitas in this resignation. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad sign for our politics.

Got to love British election declarations. A Prime Minister-in-waiting launching his bid for the leadership of the country from between a man with a bin on his head and a man in a fox costume.

Today, Ed Davey will set out our plan for a bold new deal with Europe to make Britain richer, safer and stronger.

The sheer level of illiberalism from the government is galling - on teens, on protest, on speech, on immigration, on private business. It’s like they did securonomics but forgot the economics bit.
I haven’t reached an internal consensus on an u-16 ban yet but feel very strongly that 16-25 year olds are having both rights and responsibilities stripped from them and this is a Bad Thing.

The new EHRC Code of Practice is not fit for purpose. It does not provide clear guidance or do enough to protect everyone from discrimination, and it is not compatible with longstanding British values.

With the weather right now, I’m very glad I studied in Taiwan for a month last year - it was obviously the perfect preparation for Britain undergoing climate change… I just hope that our rainfall combined with the heat doesn’t land up simulating monsoon conditions 😅

This is very fun! I also did the American focused version and got broadly the same results. I would argue that I am generally centre-left economically, but I’m also classically liberal enough to trust free markets more than the average social democrat, so I get why I was put in the centre.

Listening to Labour MPs speaking about Starmer right now, he’s just done for. It doesn’t matter when he goes, unless there’s some sort of miracle, he can’t regain the authority he’s lost, he can’t lead his party, and therefore he can’t lead the party.

The live BBC News feed showing No10 is incredibly entertaining when they’re not playing audio from one of the main news shows. You just hear the camera people and journalists chatting, shouting questions to ministers, and then complimenting each other on how loud their voices are 😅
