Science communicating is so important…and doing it poorly in this case is a way to hide info from the rest of us (this video explains how the cdc is doing exactly that).

A lot of far right politics is just becoming a generic "smash everything" button for anti-system voters. The level of success rests, I think, on how much they can convince a broader coalition to be happy with pressing it too.
The appeal used to be anti-Euro, then anti-immigration. Now the AfD has positioned itself as a party for people who are dissatisfied with the status quo for all kinds of reasons. Upset about criminal foreigners? AfD. Upset about deteriorating health care? AfD. Upset about woke whatever? AfD.
So what you are saying is that the appeal of AfD isn't simply about migration? That there are other other aspects of the AfD offering that seem to resonate with the electorate?

Democrats can be the big tent party without making that tent big enough for transphobes. Not allowing the eradication of an entire group of folks just for existing should be the lowest barrier of entry ever, yet here we are.

I remember learning in kindergarten that HOMES was a useful acronym for remembering the five great lakes.
