Starting tomorrow, I won't be on the internet for somewhere between a few days and a week. I'm having surgery in the morning (no, I don't want to go into details about it), and will be disabling my social media apps for the time I'm in the hospital. Just wanted to give people a heads up.

You can see this in the current discourse, where many cis people are actively dismissing the possibility of a democrat government making decisions that make life a lot harder for trans people. Those same people will probably continue to deny it even when it's happening.

A pattern here is anti trans changes made under a labour government are assumed to be "reasonable and moderate" by people who would oppose them if a right wing government was doing them. This is worse for trans people because cis people just don't believe us when we talk about what is happening.
A WHOLE LOT of trans people are citing to the last decade of UK politics as a reason they think anti-trans Dems winning is worse FOR THEM than anti-trans Repubs. And a whole lot of US liberals aren't engaging with that example at all while pontificating about why trans people are wrong and stupid.

It’s shocking but Erin might be underselling how vicious Acton’s people were to trans people who voiced concerns. However bad you might think it was; I guarantee it was worse.
Trans people tried this in Ohio and Amy Acton didn’t show up and her goons threatened the progressive and Pride caucuses while also shutting trans people out in the meetings her campaign did have (that she didn’t even show up to).

The sad truth is that some cis liberals want to see trans people suffer just as much as reactionaries, they just need an extra step of justification to have a clean conscience about it. The false concern for trans people's welfare is so they have an excuse for their friends who might be upset by it.
Over the past couple of days, I've seen a lot of cis people say some version of, "Biden was the most pro-trans president ever, and you wouldn't vote for him, so now this is what you get."
