I've tried to describe this scene from Head to a few different friends and their clearly unimpressed faces told me that I've failed to do it justice. I bloody love it though.

I've tried to describe this scene from Head to a few different friends and their clearly unimpressed faces told me that I've failed to do it justice. I bloody love it though.
People would genuinely rather see a bunch of digital homunculi being puppeted by a machine through an approximation of their nostalgic fantasies than experience an actual story that's been crafted by real people with something to say. Disgusting isn't a strong enough word.

I bought Star Trek: The Last Starship vol. 1 cos Jim Kirk is in it, but I found its story - an institution founded on worthy ideals is tested against extreme hardship & tragedy - to be compelling & disturbingly relevant. There's a lot more to it than just Kirk. He's still great in it though.

Just putting it out there - if you haven't read Alan Moore's Miracleman yet, don't let Marvel's weird, clumsy copyright maintaining shenanigans put you off - it's absolutely amazing.

Good episode of Strange New Worlds this week. It was brilliant to see Jim Kirk doing some top class Jim Kirk-ing, even if it did admittedly come at the cost of making La'an, Ortegas, & Spock look like complete gits.
