NEW PRC PAPER 🚨 from Nestor Jimenez-Vargas and the Bunnett Lab reveals how elevated proteases and histamine drive IBS visceral pain, showing that a prolonged intracellular PAR2 receptor signaling loop keeps the H1 receptor active to continuously amplify and maintain pain. gut.bmj.com/content/earl...

📣Excited to share our new preprint!

We identify synaptic vesicle endocytosis in nociceptors as a key driver of ongoing pain, and show that LNP‑delivered CRISPR/dCas9 repression of this pathway produces durable analgesia across multiple pain models.

Excited to share my first senior author paper in Pain! 🎉 We identify Synaptojanin 1 & Endophilin A1 as key endocytic mediators of nociception. Silencing them blocks spinal synaptic transmission and relieves pain in cancer & postoperative models, without affecting normal behavior.
