In September, 34.5% of cars sold in Germany were fully electric.

"Deutsche Hersteller profitierten von dem Boom allerdings kaum." (However, German manufacturers hardly benefited from the boom.)

As if it took them by surprise.

The Corran Ferry service is one of Scotland's busiest single-vessel crossings, but is currently served by ageing boats.

Highland Council hopes to award a contract for a new electric ferry in March next year, with the replacement anticipated to enter service in early 2029.

FedEx has ordered 2,000 electric box trucks, and
these Harbinger electric trucks will help #FedEx avoid more than 1.7 million tons of CO2 emissions over their projected operating lives, while reducing their fuel costs by an estimated $20,000 per truck per year.

The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy.

It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.

EVs are awesome.

I have a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has a range of 300-350 miles.

I charge it at home, which is convenient, and it costs me about $10 to completely recharge the battery. (84 kWh at 12 cents a kWh)

Compare that to a similar size gas car, at 25-30 mpg, which would cost $54 to fill up.

Installing solar panels and a battery in a UK home saves £681 a year on average, the first study of its kind has found:

Also, In the electric economy of the future we won't need all the LNG & oil tankers and coal bulk carriers.
Electricity is 23% of global final energy but delivers 37% of useful energy and powers 46% of the global economy.

We don't need to replace every fossil joule. We need to replace the services. A much smaller task.

Great to see the @iea.org’s new Electrification report finally measure this.

Those who polluted the most – and profited the most – must do far more to repair the damage they caused. Polluters must pay. And to the leaders, cities, civil society and citizens working to hold them accountable – you are on the right side of history. Keep going. #climate

New public buildings should, where technically possible, be built to a Passivhaus standard, as the energy savings will easily pay for the additional construction costs, and because our #climate is breaking down.
Shouldn't all community centres be Passivhaus?

Radical energy bill savings for councils + comfortable & healthy environments for those that use them.

Well done Fife Council & team for the Templehall Community Hub in Kirkcaldy.

At present, when there's enough wind/solar/nuclear to match Britain's demand, gas is still used, because some gas generators also supply steam for industrial processes. Also gas generators are still used to provide inertia services to the system.
