Speaking of Predator, its 80's insensitivities aside, it's an excellent template for understanding the claustrophobia and stress of a jungle based adventure in a #TTRPG. The building of tension, the frustration of an opponent who won't face you head on... It's a solid showcase of all of that.

Does it count if they're playing themselves? Because if it does... Ready to Rumble (2000)!

Even outside of romance, characters in Scarlet Hollow are governed by a complicated system that maps their perception of you across many different axes.

How a character behaves, even if you're emotionally close, can vary significantly between playthroughs

I watched "He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword" (1985) roughly a bajillion times. This was the age appropriate movie I watched repeatedly.

August was a hell of a year. But things are returning to normal now.

Strange Brew (1983). There has never, NEVER, been a finer adaptation of Hamlet.

Playing Skate. (2007) is so, so very chill. Like, such a nice way to wind down after an off the rails day.

We went to the Weird Al concert last night in Vancouver, and I discovered that I am apparently a lyrical sleeper agent when he performed songs that I haven't heard/sang since 2008 and I immediately knew the words.

Great concert, great music, alarming implications!

Another Green Lantern thing:

The rings' function of finding a replacement user is, for all intents and purposes, an emergency draft. The Guardians have always maintained a mixed force of ring and Guardian selected lanterns. At no point have the Guardians ever just relied on the rings for recruits.

People really, really need to understand some stuff about the Green Lantern Corps and everything associated with it.

They're not apolitical. They aren't "good" or "ethical" by default. Sinestro was not an outlier, he was a logical conclusion. And Hal Jordan has always been a POS. In fact, he... 1/3

The mother from The Other Bennett Sister. Ruth Jones plays one of the most petty, hateful, manipulative, and abusive characters I've ever seen on screen and I literally could not watch episodes she was in. It was S tier acting, love the actress, HATE the character in a deep, visceral way.

Dropout is one of the few streaming services I'm not likely to drop. My sides legit hurt from the laughing!
My name is Robogoblin and I just got a free trial for this new app called Dropout and I will take a look at their content for the first time ever.

See you on the other side!

Since they already made the whole city and larger area... Maybe Rockstar could make Midnight Club: Vice City?

Are my new bookcases all FB marketplace finds? Yes. Are they the Billy bookcases I loved from IKEA? Yes. Are they the same colour? Not quite. Did I frankenstein them into a corner unit? Yes!

I'm pretty happy. Finally got a big part of my unpacking done.

This week had multiple contractors all happen at once, snap marketplace buys of bookcases, and the final unpacking, and mild culling, of my library.

There will always, ALWAYS, be someone who will approach your #TTRPG in bad faith with the express intent on breaking it, in both terms of how they play and how they use/abuse the mechanics. These people suck, and if you have one who makes playing a slog of misery, punt them.
You cannot design away bad players in a tabletop rpg. You cannot build enough guard rails to stop bad faith play.

The only rule that helps is, "Play With Better People."

Because those guard rails suck for every good faith player that has to bump into them, design for the people who WANT to PLAY.

Technology being "old" has less meaning today than it did 30, 20, or even 10 years ago.

Unless you specifically need cutting edge specs for something, older tech these days is still viable and functional. The concept of "obsolescence" has to be engineered in to a product or pushed as a...1/5
