ICE’s ERO ONE is official. The agency is looking for 140+ intel analysts to work nationwide to locate immigrants, map their social networks, and help plan arrest operations.
ICE plans intel units in every field office to research immigrants, map who they know
ERO ONE would task them with researching individuals and charting their associates for the agents who carry out arrests and deportations.

WAREHOUSE UPDATE: A federal judge stayed Michigan and Romulus's lawsuit over the Cogswell Street warehouse for another 60 days today, while the government moves to hand the building to GSA as excess property. The order bars any work toward converting it into a detention center during the stay.

A great article from Immigration Research that debunks the claim that ICE detention facilities spur job creation.
After being up less than a week, DHS took down the forecast for ERO ONE. As we wrote over the weekend, this $100+ million contract would give ICE ERO a dedicated cadre of intelligence analysts producing all source-intelligence for building target lists.

Prognosticating a bit, but here’s how this will likely play out. If Clearfield County votes to extend the contract, then ICE is already postured to award top dollar to GEO Group.
If they vote no, ICE has signaled they will buy the site directly from GEO Group, cutting out the county entirely.

In a normal universe, exceptions for applicants with sensitive backgrounds would not be called out this way. The guidance would simply tell hiring managers and background investigators not to weigh experiences in which the applicant was the victim. (Source: I helped write applicant criteria in DoD)
