A while ago a Forestry Commission ranger told me I was at risk of going to prison for being in breach of the Wildlife Act. I'd routed a road race close to a Red Kite nest, the location of which was a secret. He didn't seem to grasp that it's hard to plan a route to avoid a site that's a secret...

Look. This is really simple. Whilst the RNLI is a charity, it forms part of the basic infrastructure of the country (whether this is a suitable arrangement is another matter). Due to intimidation parts of this infrastructure are unable to function.
I have spent weeks shadowing the RNLI and I can tell you, they do it out of nothing more than compassion.

Why oh why oh why, in this day and age, if Windows /still/ feels the need to reboot without my permission for updates etc, does it not preserve my workspace/open programs/window states?
It is sometimes polite and asks me to schedule a reboot, but at other times it just does it anyway. :-(

I don't know why this is a matter for MPs. Eurovision is just a big Euro celebration of life, if you can ignore the politics that does inevitably edge in. Who cares if we come first or last? It's one of the few things that tries to genuinely embrace diversity and equality. The contest is secondary.

I hate it when food presenters describe a white sauce with cheese in it as a béchamel. It's not. A béchamel is a simple white sauce. Add cheese and it's a mornay. But let's not using the French words and just call one a plain white sauce and the other a cheese sauce.
