It all just drives me mad. People (disproportionately children) are gonna keep getting injured and killed by drivers who have been given carte blanche to get away with dangerous speeding. No amount of evidence can convince these ghouls of anything. Dangerous driving is held as their God-given right.

Weird how any negative framing of our auto culture is automatically anti-car & radical yet the billions of dollars spent on aggressive car ads and auto first infrastructure isn't framed as anti-pedestrian, anti-bike, anti-transit, anti-person, anti-senior, anti-child or anti-planet.

The CEO of Volvo is on record as saying that if someone invented the car today and tried to get government approval it would fail. A 2 ton box that would probably be used to move only 1 person but collectively they would kill over 3000 people worldwide a day. Puts it into prospective.

I want to show my students some examples of advocacy orgs in Toronto (or other Cdn cities) that have affected change / made a difference in the city. Somewhat measurably. Like Cycle Toronto & the bike lane injunction. Ideas?

It’s past time we do something about disinformation online, starting with news comment sections.
The entire purpose of comment sections was to provide a space for people to discuss issues. But the space is being poisoned by bots and comment farms, where comments and likes can be bought.
