Gateway Health in Wangaratta has a free vending machine outside the front door for Narcan
I saw some people on the train with some serious nods and was reminded I did not have any narcan with me. In Australia you can get it for free at any participating chemist (there are many). You don’t need to give a reason. Narcan is inert unless reversing an overdose, when it can be life saving.

I forgot to take some Lacteeze before I ate yogurt at around midday yesterday.
The pain kicked in nearly 12 hours later on the way home, and I have spent the last 5 hours regretting my choices and consuming peppermint tea and ginger and Buscopan.
I do NOT like this aspect of aging at all, people..

one thing i didn't anticipate about being on the cover of my local paper is that a 5th grader might show up at the bus stop and start loudly, mercilessly reading excerpts to the neighborhood kids. we should, collectively, be more frightened of children

It's so fucked up that psychology classified queerness as various kinds of mental illnesses with no supporting empirical evidence for decades, but has never considered hoarding extreme amounts of wealth as at least a *potential* symptom of mental illness. Especially given [gestures broadly].

This reminds me of when George Michael died and we found out about all of the kind quiet things he'd done for DECADES to make people's lives better.
my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
