Fuck.. I need a cigarette
I really don’t want LLMs to get any better at coding.

maybe it's just because I have so much experience opening Apple Dev accounts, but it feels incredibly difficult to open a google play account to ship Android apps.

Looks like I was 2 months too early with my post. @gruber.foo ignited a very interesting conversation.
I’ve noticed a lot of people have gone back to X/Twitter over the past few weeks. Does AT Proto have staying power if X doesn’t use it?

One of my career highlights has been incubating Swift on the server: contributing to the language, co-writing a book, and the WWDC launch.

Since then, full-stack Swift has reached a new milestone with the Server Side Swift SDK on Google Cloud, natively invoking APIs via ADC or Workload Identity.

We will not have AGI in my lifetime.. maybe ever. The human brain is undefeated
With the release of opus 5.5 today I am more convinced then ever that all our jobs are safe. I may change my mind in a few weeks. I will not be taking questions at this time.

I might need to refactor my timeline view to use UIKit. The @tapbots.com Ivory app (for Mastodon) is so good and I can’t help but think a lot of that is because of UIKit.

I’m finally watching some of this year’s WWDC videos and it’s making me angry that LLMs exist. Coding in swift is so much fun.

What would you do if you were the only person on the planet with access to an LLM?
September 2, 2026 at 11:55 PM
AGI is probably impossible. I will not be taking questions at this time.
