🧵 The Green's drug policy is really a great idea, as much as people want to misrepresent it.

As a person that has lost people to addiction and still has addiction in my family, I know first hand the devastating effects of drugs have on a family. 1/4

The greatest thing about the Gorton and Denton by-election is for once the @greenparty.org.uk's policies are finally get some air time.

The elite seem to be scared, especially with the fearmongering.

Not been on here in a while. But I am back and this by-election win has made me feel some hope again!

Rejoined the @greenparty.org.uk and want to get back on the bandwagon!

It is time for change and if we believe, it will happen!

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia.

Today we remember those affected by the ever concerning switch on the LGBTQ+ community.

We will stand together, always.

Stand against the oppressor. Fight for your rights. Fight facism.

The welfare state is not holding the country back, the inaction to tax the richest in our society is. The country and population are far worse off because billionaires exist. It’s that simple but let’s blame it on mentally ill or disabled people sounds fair enough I guess.

This is again relevant! If @teamlabouruk.bsky.social actually listened instead of continuing the war on mental health maybe we would actually get somewhere but I don’t believe we ever will! #mentalhealthmatters #wesstreeting #labourparty
When we hear people like Liz Kendall talk about young people and mental health in terms of employment, we have to understand that the rhetoric is to continue the war on mental health and the false narrative that people, specifically young people, use mental health as a way to stay unemployed. 1/

Wes Streeting continuing the attack on mental health is unsurprising for the type of person he is! How he is in charge of our health and healthcare is baffling.

Say it with me. If you only care about child sexual abuse when your favourite political grifters do, you don’t actually care about child sexual abuse.

The right winger are pretending to care about children again. A majority of CSA victims and survivors? Not important. 5 million children in poverty? Not important. Grooming gangs? Thats the one, only the muslim ones though. We need a inquiry in just that (ignoring the 2022 one). Ridiculous.

So, parliament voted in favour of the End of Life Bill in it's second reading. This is a highly debated topics, with people's individual morals and ethics in the playing field. But today, we showed people who have a end of life prognosis that their life and feelings are important. 1/

TERMINALLY ILL ADULTS (END OF LIFE) BILL SECOND READING

AYES: 330
NOES: 275

Maj: 55

It passes- with a significant majority. Huge but somber moment in the chamber, the first time the Commons has voted for assisted dying. But there’s a long parliamentary passage to go.

Fascinating that today Keir Starmer said : “Our (work) reforms put an end to the culture of blaming & shaming people who for too long haven’t been getting the support they need to get back to work.”

Keir, the rhetoric from your party & tabloid friends has been nothing BUT "blaming and shaming"

If you asked me what my thoughts on the election petition were, I'd say ridiculous.

But If you asked me on a deeper level, I'd say that it's a ridiculous grasp at some sort of message to the government for doing exactly what they said they were going to do (in most part).

The more I hear the government talk about mental health, the more I am realising that this government, just like the last, have no idea how the support system for mental health has led us here.

Young people don't need work, they need a mental health system that works.

A right to be heard? Exactly when has she ever shut the fuck up?

Where’s the think pieces written from trans people and allies’ perspectives? What a joke. Right to be heard? I’d have to poke my eardrums with a hot knitting needle just to be free of her insane waffling.
We know. She hasn't fucked up in years.

Labour can no longer hide from the cost of Brexit. Its catastrophic impact on trade is in the OBR report they keep quoting from - but it never gets mentioned..
In a significant Intervention Bank of England governor said this week that Brexit has undermined the UK economy. @skynews.com.web.brid.gy didn’t think that was important enough to raise with the Government Minister this morning. I disagree. If you do too share this report
